TECHNICAL VISIT TO TRAKYA BİRLİK INTEGRATED FACILITIES
On April 16, 2025, students from our Food Technology and Oil Industry Programs, accompanied by Head of the Food Processing Department Prof. Dr. Zeynep Erdoğan, Dr. Gizem Çağla Dülger, and Lecturer Dr. Gülce Özcan, visited the Trakya Birlik Integrated Facilities in Tekirdağ.
To start, students were given a presentation by R&D Chief Hatice Balcı and technical staff member Nilüfer Yılmaz, introducing the integrated facilities and providing detailed information about vegetable oil and feed production.
Following the presentation, students toured the refining, liquid filling, and quality control laboratories of the factory. In each respective area, Refinery Chief Onur Ay and Laboratory Chief Bahriye Çokyürüyen offered detailed explanations and answered students' questions.
As part of the 3+1 workplace training program, feedback was received from company officials regarding the performance of 5 intern students currently placed at the facility.
In the context of our university’s quality assurance efforts, discussions were also held with Trakya Birlik representatives—our external stakeholders—on their continued support and on the internship opportunities they provide for our students.
